I logged into my Etsy shop this morning, half awake and rubbing the sleep from my eyes. I was mindlessly drinking my first cup of coffee as fast as possible without scalding my mouth, and I just wanted to check on my shop before running out the door. I subconsiously knew I was coming up on the one year anniversary of Stella Ziganti Designs on Etsy, but I didn't know that day was today! My eyes might have popped open a little wider and I definitely got a huge grin on my face. Now that I'm actually awake, I wanted to stop in here and share my joy with all of you. I am still in awe some/most days, that I was brave enough to open a shop and try to sell the jewelry that I make. I wasn't formally trained and I march to the beat of my own drum, so I wasn't sure how well received my creations would be. I have been floored by the support and love shown to me and my shop over the last year, and I've learned so very much from my peers and from my own mistakes and successes. I am thrilled to be heading into my second year, and improving myself and my craft everyday. Thank you all so much for your love and support and I truly couldn't have done it without you. Please use ANNIVERSARY15 all week (offer ends 9/14/14) as a token of my appreciation.
I have no idea where the last month has gone, it seems like it was just Valentine’s Day, and now it’s almost tax day…what happened to March? I haven’t listed anything new in my shop lately, but it’s not for lack of items— I’ve been prepping for the Montevallo Art Show on April 12th, followed by the Montevallo Artwalk on May 2nd! I’m so excited to do these two shows, and thrilled that I can get my jewelry out for people to see in the light of day. There is nothing like the sunlight dancing through the natural stones…and the photos just can’t match the experience! If you are in Alabama, and have a chance to swing by, the festivities start at 10 am on April 12th at Orr Park in Montellavo, AL. There will be live music, food, and around 70 vendor booths!
As soon as things settle down, I’ll be restocking Stella Ziganti on Etsy, and adding new designs that I’ve been working on since the holidays. I’ve added painted wooden beads and bangles to the mix, the beads on pure copper and sterling silver chains, as well as my typical sterling silver and gemstone designs. I have also made several pieces from pure copper and gemstones to contrast with the silver. I can’t wait to show it all off!
Valentine’s Day is the romantic holiday of modern times, and people seem to either love or hate it. I think it’s a good excuse to eat copious amounts of chocolate, followed by good wine…I actually I prefer beer, but that might just be me. I have never been the type of girl who likes flowers and crappy candy (could be swayed with the good stuff), so maybe that’s the problem. Anyway, the photo below has been going around Facebook for a few days and I found it hilarious! Happy Valentine’s Day…or not!
I am a talker…and with that statement I can hear the laughter booming from all who know me in real life. I can chat with anyone, about almost anything, save religion, politics, and myself. I think the first two topics fall under private matters and are none of my business, and strange as it may be, I just don’t like talking about myself. However, I love to promote other artists, products and services and rave about their talent! In fact, to kick this off, I’ll highlight some of the lovely handmade shops and artists on Etsy!
